What is Spedeworth V8 Stock Car Racing?

the cars,
A
Spedeworth V8 Stock Car is a 1000kg single seater race car that is generally
powered by a small block Chevrolet V8 engine. The cars are built to a strict
specification and run on 13" wheels. They are a nice size to work on and are not
difficult to transport around. You can buy a competitive car for approximately
£3-4k - the top cars obviously cost more. They are fairly low cost to maintain
with engines lasting for many seasons without major rebuilds, although there is
always the possibility that you're the unlucky one, as in all motorsport.

the racing,
Cars line up in graded order, with the quickest starting at the rear of the
grid. Grades are determined by way of a points system that awards points to the
first eight over the line. Periodically, the
points are totalled and drivers are graded accordingly. Approximately 20 cars
race at any one time in a multiple lap challenge where the sole aim is to be
first across the line. Drivers are able to forcibly remove other cars from
the racing line by skilful use of the front bumper.
